Assisted Living/Adult Care Homes
Assisted Living Facilities/Adult Care Homes This is a comprehensive list of all Assisted Living Facilities that are licensed by the State of Florida. Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Designed for seniors who need some assistance in order to maintain their independence. ALF’s provide assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, transferring and toileting. In addition, assisted living programs have 24-hour staff; provide some meals, medication assistance, scheduled transportation, planned daily activities and many other services, as the person’s needs change. Adult Care Home Adult Care Homes provide a family/home-like environment for their residents and are staffed 24 hours a day. These homes basically provide the same assistance and have the same services as the ALF’s, just on a smaller scale. The concept behind this type of home, as opposed to ALF’s, is to be able to have a higher staff-to-resident ratio. Adult Care Homes are usually residential homes converted to accommodate assisted living for seniors, so they tend to have fewer residents than an average ALF. This type of environment is ideal for seniors in need of more one-on-one care, but not needing nursing home care. The standards and laws are basically the same for these types of homes as they are for ALF’s. |
